As you know an exceptional work from home opportunity is to become an affiliate in an MLM company. To learn whether or not you should join an MLM company, please refer to my article entitled "MLM, Is It Really A Scam?" for more information. If you are looking to join a Multi level marketing or direct sales company, there are a few things you need to look for, before joining.
The most important thing to find out should be the reputation of the company you are looking to join. This can be accomplished easily, just perform a search inquiry, and look at a few of the search results. Most of what you will find should be positive, try to see if there is anything negative written about it and decide if it's aforgivable claim. Remember that some people complain no matter what.
The next thing you want to know is a little bit about the management. Who are the members at the top-level, the founders or the current managers? What is their level of experience and their vision about creating the company? What is their objective? This should give you a good idea of whether or not you want to join the company.
Among other things of course you want to know about the product, or products that they are offering. Is the product something you believe in? did you try the product yourself? if you really believe in the product, you will have an easier time selling it.
If everything looks good so far, dig into the compensation plan. The majority of companies pay 15-50% commisions on direct sales. You should also consider the commissions you receive from your downline. Make sure the pay structure is on even grounds for everyone, and payments are not designed to benefit only the top earners. Some companies have a minimum sales requirement to qualify you for commisions. Take all of that under consideration, when it comes to compensation plan.
Next fin out about the financial health of the company by doing a sales comparison from their previous year or last quarter earnings. Look for sales growth. Is the company still growing in annual sales, or has it capped out at a maximum sales volume. This way you can determine if you are joining the company at the right time, since timing is everything. If the company has reached maximum sales, it means the market maybe over saturated and it may be hard to sell the products.
Last but not least find out if they provide training. Is there a system in place that can train you? is your up line available to answer your questions, or help you get more sales? or are you left out on your own to figure everything out by yourself? Network marketing is all about community, and if you don't see your company as your family, you may be suffering financially. A good company will have webinars, seminars, meetings and gatherings geared towards training and to create a sense of community and proper mindset.
