Adventure travel and Africa holidays are searched for online more and more frequently. As details are accessed effortlessly through modern technology the world gets smaller and more people these days want more varied travel experiences. Tourism is just one of Africa's key potential markets and it is estimated that, over the next decade, it will become the single biggest contributor to Southern African GDP. But could we protect Africa's ecosystems, endangered species and variety? I think the reply is yes and lots of African Governments including the Zambian Government are working toward one of low impact, high yield responsible tourism. Many people who've explored African countries like Zambia on adventure holidays or African safari will know they've been virtually untouched by the tourist m**es. Many would argue that these countries must remain by doing this. However these wilderness areas full of wildlife and natural beauty are a precious potentially profitable resource that belongs to Africa and we all know that these profits are much needed. What Zambia, Africa, service providers, Governments, residents and visitors should do is recognise the need for these resources and sustain them. Conserving these wilderness areas and ensuring that the local communities take advantage of tourism activities, will make sure these wild areas have a future. One method to achieve this is through luxury adventure travel. Extravagance has a way of naturally minimising demand so that tourism is low impact but creates a high yield. Luxury travel is definitely one of the few sectors of tourism that is not being negatively affected by the present economic market. However, some travel experts would argue that the planet belongs to humanity and we all have a right to explore it - in essence who're we to deliberately limit demand by only allowing the introduction of luxury tourism in almost any given space. Surely education is essential to human development and what better knowledge do you gain than to experience Africa for themselves. Exploring does allow individuals to arrived at a much better knowledge of the principles of sustainability that govern the way forward for the earth's ecosystem. The response to this argument is we should educate ourselves on the issues surrounding our delicate ecosystems, sustainability and local community needs to ensure that exceptional guest experiences can be achieved without resorting to a blanket approach of excessive prices for lavish travel experiences like wine-tasting and experiences. Explore Zambia Tourism A more genuine adventure travel experience like camping instead of five star hotel luxuries can also be a very special yet sustainable experience if Governments, providers, local people and visitors to places like Zambia in Africa interact for that good of preserving Africa's ecosystems and natural diversity. Therefore the informed visitor can make a difference and play an essential part in Africa's quest for sustainable tourism whether or not they travel in luxury or on a budget or anything in between. Experience endangered species that have been successfully protected, visit neighborhood projects which happen as a result of key partnerships between providers and native people and enjoy the natural splendor Africa provides. The key is to respect it.
