What is a Penny Matrix?
What is a Penny Matrix? I was recently asked by my friend, Tanya, to join her in a PENNY MATRIX, and naturally that was my first question. What is a penny matrix? What I learned is that a penny matrix is a standard multi-level pyramid setup (but not an illegal one, as I’ll explain later), where each participant gets a commission or payment based on how many other people are in their downline organization.
That’s pretty straightforward, right? The rather fun thing about a penny matrix that makes it different from other multi-level programs is that it’s very inexpensive to join. I suppose at one point they may have started with one penny, but these days it can cost anywhere from $1 to $10 to join.
And, as you might expect, the payouts are much smaller because the pay-ins are much smaller. It also takes a heck of a lot more people to sign up for a penny matrix in order for a person to make any significant amount of money. That’s seems daunting in one way, but in another way, it may make it lot easier to get people to join because of the low cost of signing up.
What is a Penny Matrix?
The particular Penny Matrix that my friend Tanya was telling me about costs $7.00 to join. It appears to be the largest and most popular penny matrix website, and has the largest participation of all other penny matrices. Click here to have a look at the Penny Matrix site. What is a Penny Matrix?
So this penny matrix is a 2 x 14 forced matrix with a 100% matching bonus on all personal referrals, and as I said, it costs $7/month to participate. “Forced” means that no one can ever have more than 2 people under them on their 1st level. If you refer 3 people, that extra person is forced to be placed underneath your 1st level (as in, your 2nd level) which actually helps you fill your matrix up a lot quicker.
Now, if you do the quick math, you will see that in order to have an entire 2 x 14 matrix completely filled out, you would need 32,768 people in your downline. Whoa! That’s sounds insane, right?
I know, it sounds like a scam. I doubt that is ever going to happen in anybody’s lifetime. It just doesn’t sound realistic. But let’s take a closer look at this Penny Matrix.
What IS realistic in a penny matrix like this?
The video walks us through a couple different scenarios. If you haven’t watched the video yet, I’ll break it down for you here.
Penny Matrix Scenario #1 – if you refer two people and the three of you only fill 20% of your matrices, that would lead to a $3,931.80 per month income.
Penny Matrix Scenario #2 – if you refer two people and the three of you only fill 10% of your matrices, that would lead to a $1,965.96 per month income.
Penny Matrix Scenario #3 – if you refer two people and the three of you only fill 5% of your matrices, that would lead to a $982.98 per month income.
Let’s break this Penny Matrix down even further. What if I refer 2 people and the three of us only fill 1% of our matrices. Based on the math they used in the video, that would be $19,659.60 x .01 = $196.60 per month.
Huh. It’s no Empower Network, of course, … but …. hmmm
In that scenario, if I invested $7 per month into this penny matrix and in return got $196.60 per month out of it, that would make my return on investment (ROI) 196.60 / 7 = 2808%. That’s pretty awesome, actually, if it can be done. Not bad at all.
But is this Realistic?
The reality of it is that even if we could build out a 2 x 14 matrix at 1%, that would still be 32,768 x .01 = 328 people. If I only bring in 2 people personally, where are the other 326 people going to come from?
That means that I am either going to have to personally refer more than just 2 people into the Penny Matrix, or I am going to need to have at least a somewhat active downline in order to get over 300 more people in.
It could happen. It would take some time, though.
What is a Penny Matrix?
Is it a scam or not? Is it worth $7 a month? That’s for you to decide. The way I see it, it does have potential in the longer term, and if it doesn’t work out, I’ve only lost $7.
One advantage that you may not realize at first is that your upline is also building a 2 x 14 forced matrix. That means that after they’ve reached the 2 people they are allowed on their first level, there is a “spill-over” and these new sign-ups go down to other levels in order to fill the matrix. Even though they are not personally sponsored by you, you still get payments for them. Not a bad deal, right?
Theoretically, you don’t even have to sign up a single person, and you could still possibly make a modest income. The advantage to signing someone up, though, is that you get a 100% matching bonus on all your direct referrals no matter where they are at in the matrix. Besides, don’t be lazy! Pull your own weight.
To make it legal, they need to be giving you a product, right? Well, they do, in the form of e-books. It is an eBook Book Club with a decent size library of various topics. You can choose one e-book a month.
Earlier I mentioned that the Penny Matrix is not illegal multi-level marketing scheme. The reason it is not illegal is because of the fact that you get paid on your personally sponsored sign-ups (100% matching bonus), making it possible for those people in anyone’s downline to make more of an income than those in the uplines.
I think this is a sweet concept. This is a six year old company and has a good track record. It is backed up by a much larger and older company, WORLDLIGHT.
